Our Beliefs
Christiana's Bookshelf is a non-denominational Christian business. As Christians, we believe that it is imperative that sound biblical doctrine be taught and practiced by all of God's children. The following are some of those sound, foundational doctrines of the Bible that you will find in every book purchased at Christiana's Bookshelf.
1. We believe the creation account as firstly and clearly given in the Book of Genesis. We believe that God created the Heaven and the Earth in six literal, 24-hour days, and that He rested on the seventh day. He is Supreme Creator and the Ultimate Cause of every thing living and non-living. We believe that the creation account given all through the Bible is backed by clear, provable evidences even outside of the biblical narrative, and that on the converse, the humanistic theory of evolution is a lie based, not upon actual facts, but upon extreme, blind faith and a desire to avoid man's accountability to his Maker. We believe that the first 11 chapters of Genesis are the foundation of the entire Bible, without which one cannot come to a proper understanding of the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the World, and man's relationship to Him. (Gen. 1:1, Col. 1:16-17; Rom. 1:19-23; 1 Tim. 6:20; Ps. 50:22).
2. We believe the Bible to be the wholly inspired and preserved word of God, and the only final authority in matters of faith and practice in this world (Prov. 30:5; Ps. 12:6-7; Matt. 4:4; 2 Tim. 3:6; Heb. 4:12).
3. We believe that Jesus Christ literally died, was buried, and rose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures (1 Cor. 15:3-4), and that He is the only Savior and hope of all mankind (1 Tim. 1:1; 1 John 2:2).
4. We believe in the doctrine of the new birth (John 3:3, 7; 1 Pet. 1:23) as the only means of salvation, and water baptism after salvation as an act of obedience to Christ's command (Matt. 28:19). Any person who is not born-again will, upon death, face God as Judge and be condemned to eternal fire in Hell (Heb. 9:27; Matt. 13:42; Luk. 16:23). All those who are born-again will pass from death unto life (John 5:24). Are you born-again?
5. We do not believe that water baptism or good works have the power to save a soul or merit heaven (1 Pet. 3:21; Eph. 2:8-9; Tit. 3:5).
6. We believe that a Christian should, by God's grace, live "holily and justly" (1 Thes. 2:10) in this present world. Furthermore, we do not believe godly standards in the area of personal appearance and lifestyle are "legalism" (Lev. 20:7; 1 Pet. 1-15-16; 1 Thes. 2:12; Luk. 1:75; 2 Cor. 7:1; Phil. 1:27, 2:15; Tit. 3:8). A Christian must be holy before he can be Christ-like (Rom. 8:29; 1 John 3:2).
7. We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again in power and glory to set up His earthly Kingdom and that all true Christians will be caught together with Him in the clouds upon His return (1 Thes. 4:17; Rev. 11:15).
God bless each of you as you strive for higher ground!
